We’re excited to invite you to Re-Encounter 2026, a weekend of community, formation, prayer, and conversation for young people aged 18-30.
This year, Re-Encounter will focus on leadership within our local Oblate Youth Australia communities and the role of intentional, meaningful liturgy in shaping our ministries and gatherings. Together, we’ll explore what it means to lead with authenticity, create spaces of encounter, and continue building communities grounded in the charism of St Eugene de Mazenod.
Saturday will include formation sessions, workshops, community time, and Mass, followed by a social evening together. On Sunday, we’ll gather for a strategic sharing forum, reflecting on the life of OYA across Australia, sharing ideas and hopes for the future, before concluding with lunch.
Whether you’ve been involved in OYA for years or have only recently connected through NOYE or local ministry, Re-Encounter is an opportunity to reconnect with community, deepen your faith, and be renewed for mission alongside other young people from across Australia.
WHEN
Re-Encounter will take place from 17th-19th July 2026. We will begin with Adoration at 8:30pm on Friday and will conclude with lunch on Sunday. It is a requirement of the event that all participants arrive on Friday evening.
WHERE
St Eugene’s Retreat Centre, Newborough, Victoria
ACCOMMODATION
All participants will be staying at St Eugene’s Retreat Centre, including local Victorians.
AIRPORT TRANSFERS
There will be one airport pick up on Friday 17th July this pick up will depart the airport at 6:00pm.
There will be one airport drop off on Sunday, which will depart St Eugene’s at 2pm. Please book your flights no earlier than 5:30pm.
If you require lifts outside of these times, please let us know well in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you. There is also the option of catching the Gippsland train to Moe where we can arrange a transfer from Moe station.
COST
$150 - this includes airport transfers, accommodation, meals and activities.
Preferred payment is cash or card during the event.
To assist us with organising buses and catering, please register by 1st July.
