We’re excited to invite you to Re-Encounter 2025, a weekend retreat for young people aged 18-30 who have participated in a National Oblate Youth Encounter (NOYE).
This year, in the spirit of the Church’s Jubilee Year theme Pilgrims of Hope and in preparation for our upcoming NOYE theme “On the Road”, we’ll be hitting the road ourselves with a special pilgrimage walk from Rye to Sorrento. Along the way, we’ll pause for moments of prayer, reflection, and conversation, breaking open these powerful themes and exploring the charism of St Eugene de Mazenod.
After our pilgrimage we will head back to Mazenod College for a formal dinner, as is tradition, and some fun activities.
We will conclude the weekend with an Oblate Youth/De Mazenod Family Mass and lunch. A chance for us to catch up with past Oblate Youth members and supporters from the De Mazenod Family.
It’s a chance to reconnect with friends, nourish your faith, and reflect on where God is calling you next.
WHEN
Re-Encounter will take place from 19th-21st September 2025. We will begin with Adoration at 8:00pm on Friday and will conclude with lunch on Sunday. It is a requirement of the event that all participants arrive on Friday evening.
WHERE
This year, Re-Encounter will be held in Victoria. Adoration, dinner and Mass will be held at Mazenod College. The pilgrimage walk will take place from Rye to Sorrento.
ACCOMMODATION
All participants will be staying at Mazenod College, including local Victorians.
AIRPORT TRANSFERS
There will be one airport pick up on Friday 19th September this pick up will depart the airport between 6-7pm.
There will be one airport drop off on Sunday, which will depart Mazenod College between 2-2:30pm. Please book your flights no earlier than 4:30pm.
If you require lifts outside of these times, please let us know well in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.
COST
$60 - this includes airport transfers, accommodation, meals, activities, and buses to and from the pilgrimage walk.

IMPORTANT INFO FOR THE PILGRIMAGE WALK
As part of Re-Encounter 2025, we’ll be taking part in a pilgrimage walk from Rye to Sorrento, covering roughly 10km along the beautiful Mornington Peninsula coastline. The walk is relatively flat and easy-going, though there are some sections of off-road terrain and one steep hill up to St Mary’s Star of the Sea in Sorrento.
To keep everyone safe and supported, the Rosies van will meet us at each rest stop with water, first aid supplies, and a lift if needed (though hopefully we won’t have to use it!).
If you’re unsure about completing the full 10km, don’t let that hold you back — you’re more than welcome to join us for as much of the walk as you can manage and hop in the van if needed.
What to bring:
