In 2011 the National Oblate WYD Pilgrimage will travel to France, Spain and Italy.
On our pilgrimage we will visit the south of France where St Eugene de Mazenod lived and worked in Aix en Provence. Through the south of France we visit Marseille, Toulouse and Lourdes, the site of the visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary to St Bernadette.
After Lourdes our entry into Spain is at San Sebastian on the Atlantic ocean and onto Avila where St Theresa lived and prayed. From Avila we unite with Oblate Youth from around the world in Malaga on the south coast where we share in the Oblate Charism with Oblates and youth from around the world. Much like Hunfeld and Melbourne this event leads into the WYD week with significance and spirituality. After Malaga we head into Madrid for the WYD celebrations. Catechism, faith, music and spirituality await us as a community of Oblate Youth, Youth from around the world and Catholics from all across the world.
After the conclusion of WYD in Madrid we travel to Rome for a few days of retreat and reflection on the experiences of the past few weeks before heading home to Australia.
