So it is encounter time again, and it has gotten off to an interesting start; with flight delays and cancellations and heat and lots of it. Though everyone finally got here and was safe. There was lots of reuniting of people and welcoming of new people. It started with mass at St. David’s which included an entrance procession where people from the different states came in from different points in the church and united as one showing us that even though we come from different places we are still all members of Oblate Youth Australia. The music at mass was as always it is at any oblate youth event outstanding. We then ate a wonderful barbecue prepared for us by friends of Oblate Youth. It was then time for us to get on the bus and head to Nunyara, our home for the next few days. the theme for the camp was explored by the animation team in three ways; a PowerPoint of the beatitudes with some pictures, a short play about understanding the beatitudes with Ferg playing a father and Aaron Nash as his son discussing the beatitudes with Ferg grasping for answers and a prayer session where the beatitudes were realised in our lives. That is all for today. Hope you read up again tomorrow.
